Two Monroe massage parlors shut down for alleged labor violations

MONROE, CT — Two Monroe massage parlors were shut down by the Connecticut Department of Labor for alleged violations after town police officers and state employees conducted unannounced compliance inspections Tuesday.

The Monroe Police Department had contacted the Department of Labor following recent complaints from residents.

During the ensuing inspections, Crystal Spa, 500 Monroe Turnpike, and Blue Rose Spa, 115 Main St., were found to be noncompliant with state labor laws, according to a press release issued by the Monroe Police Department Wednesday.

The Labor Department immediately shut down the businesses until further notice. Each establishment also faces additional administrative sanctions from the state agency.

  1. It’s about time! There are at least 6 of these “massage” parlors in Monroe.
What kind of zoning does our town have to allow this?
Monroe is such a small town, why do we need so many let alone 1?
