MONROE, Conn. —- The Monroe CT 250 Committee is offering three events as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. On Sunday, June 14, the committee and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will host a Flag Day Celebration in the Ehlers Room of Edith Wheeler Memorial Library, 733 Monroe Turnpike, at 2 p.m. A Betsy Ross impersonator and her friend will talk about the making of the flag. Jockey Hollow Unified Sports hosts a spring celebration

MONROE, Conn. — National Banner Unified Champion Jockey Hollow Middle School’s Unified Sports team concluded a successful spring season with a celebration on May 28. Students feasted on pizza, ice pops, and played games including Unified Eagle’s Nest and Newcomb.
