Thieves targeted the northeast part of town early in the week

MONROE, CT — Thieves targeted the northeast part of town from the night of Nov. 8 into the the early morning of Nov. 9, according to police.

There were two reports of a suspicious vehicle, one whose occupants were looking into cars on Georges Lane at approximately 2:43 a.m. on Nov. 9  and another of a vehicle driving slowly on Barn Hill Road with its headlights off around 1:30 a.m.

In several cases, residents had locked the doors of their vehicles and thieves were unable to enter and moved on.

A Blue Hills Road man told police someone tried to enter his vehicle unsuccessfully sometime overnight, adding he had Ring camera footage that could be emailed.

Thieves trying to enter two vehicles in a driveway on Grist Mill Road also came up empty around 2:30 a.m. A Ring camera captured video of shadowy figures and the resident did not wish to see an officer.

An unlocked vehicle on Georges Lane was entered and loose change was taken around 2:41 a.m. A Ring camera showed two individuals, but police were unable to get descriptions from it.

An unlocked pickup truck, also on Georges Lane, was rummaged through. One bag was removed, but later found close by. The owner said she did not wish to see an officer.

Police said multiples vehicles were entered on Turkey Roost Road, but nothing of value was stolen. Ring camera footage captured video of three individuals.
