Subaru Forester crashes into Haus of Dog Friday

MONROE, CT — A 67-year-old Danbury woman crashed her Subaru Forester into the Haus of Dog, a dog grooming business at 115 Main St., Friday afternoon, according to police. Police said the no one was injured in the accident, though the driver was shaken up.

Typically, these accidents are caused when someone steps on the gas pedal instead of the brake, police said, but the woman told them she only remembers parking her Forester, then hitting the building.

The front door was completely destroyed and firefighters who responded to the scene called the building inspector to determine whether the building is structurally sound, according to police.

On Monday afternoon, Chief Building Official Gunnar Gaylord said he was going back out to the site to continue his inspection.
