MONROE, CT — A Monroe man turned himself in on a warrant charging him with disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a child Tuesday. Barrington Strauchn, 31, was released on $5,000 bond for a July 9 court date.
The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on June 3, 2025 in Monroe, in which Strauchn allegedly threw a “smoothie” beverage at a female companion after an argument over the use of her vehicle. The woman’s young child was present during the incident, according to a police press release issued Thursday.
Last January, Strauchn had been charged with risk of injury to a child and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon in connection with the accidental shooting of his two-year-old child, at their family’s home on Wheeler Road on July 23, 2024.
He has pleaded not guilty in court.
