Panthers will go to Naugatuck for State playoff opener

NAUGATUCK, CT — Masuk High’s football team will visit Naugatuck to begin the Class L State Tournament. Masuk and Naugatuck will kick off their quarterfinal-round game on Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 6:30 p.m.

The Panthers, with their 24-21 win over Newtown on Thanksgiving Eve, finished the regular season at 8-2 and earned the No. 7 seed.

Naugatuck (9-1) is seeded second and is coming off a 14-7 victory over Ansonia, which ended the Chargers’ 103-game winning streak against Naugatuck Valley League opponents.

The winner will compete in the semifinals on Sunday, Dec. 5, with a spot in the Dec. 11 championship tilt on the line.
