Monroe Police Reports: Stolen vehicles, a scam, the Penguin Plunge is back

MONROE, CT — A 2019 BMW was reported stolen from a driveway in the 400-block of Hattertown Road Tuesday. Police said a teenager noticed the vehicle was missing when she came home from school and reported her mothers’ BMW stolen. Home surveillance video determined the theft occurred at 1:30 a.m. Police said it was unlocked and the keys were inside when it was taken. Detectives are investigating the case. Monroe Elementary School teachers put in shifts at McDonald’s

MONROE, CT — McDonald’s parking lot filled up quickly and families parking in the Village Square shopping center had to brave the crosswalk on Monroe Turnpike for their children to exchange high fives and pose for pictures with the Hamburglar and Grimace, who greeted patrons on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant Tuesday evening. Masuk swimmers continue to set records in Class M State Championships

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Led by a pair of event titles by Brendan Kirberger, and more team records, the Masuk High boys swim team came in sixth in the Class M State Championships at Cornerstone Aquatics Center in West Hartford on Monday.
