Masuk High’s softball team followed up one if its toughest games of the season — a 6-3 win over host Notre Dame Prep on April 20 — with four lopsided decisions.
The Panthers improved to 11-0 and get back to game action Monday, May 4, with a visit to New Milford at 4:15 p.m. Among their recent game highlights:
Masuk 6, Notre Dame 3: The Panthers faced former Masuk Assistant Coach Phil Wilhelmy, who is now the head coach at Notre Dame. Josie Lieto had a fantastic day at the plate with three hits, including a two-run home run to secure the lead at the top of the seventh. Grace Ely laid down a sacrifice bunt to score the first run of the game. Ciena Perpetuo scored a run with a sacrifice fly, and Julianna Falcone added to the count with a single, scoring one run.

Mary Saunders earned the win, allowing only four hits, three runs (zero earned), and striking out nine.
Masuk 22, Kolbe 0: Peyton Webb went 3-for-4 with two doubles in this home win on April 22. Grace Ely and Julianna Falcone also had a double each. Ely pitched the first two innings, striking out five, and Violet Schneider pitched three innings, striking out two batters.
Masuk 17, Pomperaug 1: Masuk scored eight runs on six hits in the top of the second inning in this road game on April 24. Peyton Webb singled, scoring two runs; Grace Ely singled, scoring one run, and an error scored two more. A pair of singles for Ava Parente and Makayla Gill scored two more. Mary Saunders earned the win for Masuk, only giving up four hits, striking out seven, in only five innings of this mercy-rule victory. Masuk collected 15 hits in the game.

Masuk 18, Bassick 3: Peyton Webb drove in four runs with two hits to put Masuk in the lead in the first inning in this April 27 game at Seaside Park. Grace Ely led things off in the circle for the first inning, allowing no hits and no runs, striking out three. Chiara Maier pitched for two innings, and then, to close out the game, Violet Schneider pitched.
Masuk 12, Harding 0: Back at home on April 29, the Panthers took the bottom of the second inning after Izzy DeBernardo doubled, scoring two runs, and Ciena Perpetuo singled, scoring three runs. Mary Saunders hit a solo home run in the third inning. Peyton Webb went 3-for-3 at the plate, while Izzy DeBernardo was 2-for-2 with three RBI. Mary Saunders was also 2-for-2.
