Early voting for Monroe’s municipal election starts Monday

MONROE, CT — A first selectman’s debate is scheduled to be held at Jockey Hollow Middle School on Tuesday, but for those whose minds are already made up, early voting at the Monroe Community Center (formerly St. Jude School), 709 Monroe Turnpike, begins Monday.

Early voting leading up to the Nov. 4 election will be held daily, Oct. 20 through Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Oct. 28 and 30 from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The election includes the positions of:

First Selectman (Vote for 1): Leon Ambrosey (D), Terry Rooney (R)

Town Council (Vote for up to 9):

  • Democrats: Jason Maur, Janice Persico, Cathy Kohut, Nina Gagnon, Benjamin Sabia
  • Republicans: Sean O’Rourke, Enid Lipeles, Vin Duva, Kevin Reid, Jonathan Formichella, Dona-Lyn Wales

Town Clerk (Vote for 1): Vida V. Stone (R)

Town Treasurer (Vote for 1): Frank Dutches (R)

Tax Collector (Vote for 1): Deborah Heim (R)

Board of Finance (Vote for up to 2: Samantha Spino (D), Mark O’Donnell (R)

Board of Education (Vote for up to 5):

  • Democrats: Jerry Stevens
  • Republicans: Dennis Condon, Sunny Gill, Jeff Fulchino, Christine Cascella
  • Petitioning Candidate: Marie A. Blake

Planning and Zoning (Vote for up to 2): Michael O’Reilly (R), Robert Westlund (R)
