The Wireless Zone, an authorized Verizon retailer with a location at 464 Main St. in Monroe, is hosting its 11th annual School Rocks Backpack Giveaway this Sunday, starting at 1 p.m.
Store employees will hand out backpacks full of school supplies to help local children prepare for the school year and parents to cut down on school supply costs on a first come, first serve basis (one backpack per child).
Locations for the Wireless Zone and its sister company, TCC, plan to give away a total of 120,000 backpacks nationwide. Since 2013, the School Rocks Backpack Giveaway has provided more than 1.3 million backpacks to children across the U.S. ahead of the upcoming academic year.
