Here’s what’s happening in Monroe this week, Feb. 17 through Feb. 23, 2020:

Monday, Feb. 17:
Monroe Public Schools, Monroe Town Hall, Edith Wheeler Memorial Library, the Highway Department, Food Pantry and Senior Center will be closed today, in observance of Presidents’ Day.  Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
Spring Hill Road Transfer Station in Trumbull will remain open on Presidents’ Day. There will be no change in the recycling pickup schedule.

Everyone has a story to tell. Join for an opportunity to finally get those ideas out of your head and onto paper (or laptop.) The library welcome all types of writers who aspire to publish and anyone else who would like to spend an hour in a safe, nurturing environment creating and sharing their work. Seniors are encouraged to document family traditions and personal anecdotes to pass on to loved ones. No
registration necessary. This program will be held in the Monroe Lions Club Cafe Space.

Ages birth through 6 with a caregiver. Kids can enjoy our train table, Duplo table, play house, puzzles, puppets, and other toys while caregivers get to know other adults in our community. The libraery will have a fun activity set up in its Craft/Storyhour rooms. Spontaneous storytimes, bubbles, musical instrument fun, and other activities will vary from week to week. Be sure to check out books and other library materials
to take home to enhance this early learning experience. Registration is not required.

Choose a toy car (that you may keep) to drive down the colored tape roads in our meeting room, then visit each village in Tape Town where you will find something fun to play with and a great story to read aloud.
