There is still time to register to vote in Monroe’s municipal election

The Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5, and all polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Though the date is coming fast, there is still time for unregistered citizens to register to vote.

The Department of Motor Vehicles online registration and mail in registrations will not be accepted after Oct. 29. There will be a special registration session in the Registrars’ Office from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. that day.

On Nov. 4, anyone who turned 18-years-old, became a citizen or a new Monroe resident since Oct. 29 may register to vote.

On the day of the election, there will be Election Day Registration in Town Hall.

For information, call the Registrars’ Office 203-452-2820. Margaret Villani is the Republican registrar and Katherine Briggs is the Democratic registrar.
