Summer Concert Series features AfterShock. Food sales to benefit Monroe Playground Foundation

The band AfterShock will play hits from today and yesteryear at Wolfe Park Friday.

MONROE, CT — AfterShock, a rock and dance band, will perform at Wolfe Park Friday night, as part of the Monroe Parks and Recreation Department’s 33rd annual Summer Concert Series.

The food vendor, Romeo’s at Wolfe Park, will donate 10 percent of its night’s profits to the Monroe Playground Foundation. MPF is spearheading a project for a new playground at Wolfe Park with a community build.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to bring a blanket and chairs to enjoy the show with friends and family.

AfterShock’s music covers a variety of hits from today and yesterday, including classic rock, soul, blues, Southern rock and alternative rock.

The KC Sisters, five sisters ranging from age 17 to 23 sing, play the violin, bass, guitar, piano and drums, Aug. 27.

Mary Beth Sippin and the Goldrush Band, plays a mix of original songs, classic country, swing, acoustic and traditional bluegrass, Sept. 3.
