Season off and running for Panthers 

Coach Peter Lopuch shared this photo of this year's Masuk girls' cross country team.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The cross country season kicked off with a meet at Brookfield High’s 3.04 mile course on Sept. 14. Masuk High’s girls’ team fell to Brookfield 15-45, Immaculate 18-39 and Newtown 16-45. There were 53 runners in the race.

All of Masuk’s top five runners are new to cross country this year, including freshman Isabella Kantor.

Masuk’s top runners from the race, with overall placement, are as follows: 

13. Ashley Colberg 24:22.

16. Kayla Andreo 25:54.

20. Sophia Kellogg 26:52.

24. Isabella Kantor 28:28.

27. Emily Vanderslice 29:29.

28. Karlisse Wills 29:40.

29. Molly Panella 29:47.

30. Catie Kirk 29:55.

Masuk will host a race against New Fairfield, New Milford and Notre Dame-Fairfield, at Great Hollow Lake on Sept. 21.
