MONROE, CT — Girl Scout cookies campaigned for the title of “Milk’s Best Running Mate” in an online poll last year, in which voters crowned Samoas the winner for its promise of chewy caramel, coconut and chocolate stripes.
Turnout was light, when Samoas garnered 20 votes to runner-up Thin Mints’ 12. Tagalongs were a distant third with eight.

If this makes you hungry, Girl Scouts in Monroe will be selling cookies at polling places on Election Day this Tuesday. Troops will be at Fawn Hollow Elementary School from noon to 4 p.m. and Masuk High School from noon to 8 p.m.
All proceeds stay in Connecticut, supporting troop treasuries and generating revenue used by Girl Scouts of Connecticut to support programming and volunteer development.
