Roadwork for Pepper Street reconstruction project begins this month

MONROE, CT — First Selectman Ken Kellogg says utility work for the Connecticut Department of Transportation project to reconstruct Pepper Street will begin shortly, followed by roadwork in the middle of June.

The project, which has 90 percent funding from state and federal grants, includes the intersection of Main Street (Route 25) and north Pepper Street, as well as Pepper Street from Cambridge Drive to Grant Road. It is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2021.

Although local and emergency access will be maintained at all times, there will be some periods of alternating traffic.
