MONROE, CT — Classic cars, trucks and hot rods adorned with skeletons, spiderwebs and other scary décor were on display on Fireman’s Field Saturday, and many of the children there with their families wore Halloween costumes during the annual Trunk or Treat Car Show benefitting Special Olympics Connecticut.

The event was organized by the Monroe Police Department, the Monroe Street Rodders and other area car clubs, with cooperation from the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department.
Families enjoyed food trucks and their children took home candy from the show’s participants, on a day when visitors judged the best trunks and their kids had a chance to win a trophy for best costume.
