MONROE, CT — Officers with the Monroe Police Department will host a Tip-A-Cop event to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut at Jennie’s Pizzeria, 380 Monroe Turnpike, on Wednesday, Nov. 20, between 5 and 9 p.m. During the event, law enforcement will volunteer their time to work with restaurant employees and welcome customers, take orders and serve meals to diners. The Masuk High girls swimming and diving team placed eighth, with 266 points, in the Class M State Championships. Masuk had a team record-setting performance from swimmer Lena Savkovic among its tremendous results. Diving championships took place in Middletown on Nov. 6, swim trials were in Cheshire Nov. 9 and the swim finals were at Cornerstone Aquatics Center in West Hartford on Nov. 12.
