Masuk runners stand out in SWC Championships

NEW HAVEN, CT — Masuk High’s indoor track team members had strong efforts in the South-West Conference Championships at the Floyd Little Athletic Center on Saturday, Feb. 4.

The Masuk girls were seventh and Weston took first. The Masuk boys were eighth and Bethel was first.

In the 4×200 relay race, Masuk’s team of Kylie Hurme, Aubrey Zvovushe-Ramos, Athena Gruner and Emily Haye was fifth in 1:55.35.

The 1600 sprint medley relay of Haye, Gruner, Ella McGee and Erin Davis placed third in 4:40.92.

Masuk’s 4×400 relay of  Zvovushe-Ramos, Emily Kass, Sofia Nwosu and McGee came in third in 4:34.67.

Davis was fifth in the 1000 meter run in a time of 3:17.43. McGee placed fifth in the 600 in 1:48.12. Kathryn Wittenauer came in fifth in the 55 hurdles in 10.29. Hurme was fifth in the 300 dash in 44.61.

The 4×200 relay of Jackson Zylick, Colin Valle, Colin Hope and Ethan Palmich came in sixth in 1:39.08.

Masuk’s 4×400 team of Colin Hope, William Brewster, Palmich and Zylick was fifth in 3:53.20.

Mason Hope came in sixth in the 55 hurdles in 9.31. Zylick was sixth in the 55 dash in 7.03.
