Panthers race Weston in home meet

Aiden El-Sahragty races for Masuk during a meet this winter. The Panthers will host two more meets this winter.

MONROE, CT — Masuk High’s boys swim team fell 97-73 to visiting Weston on Tuesday, but the Panthers had some strong individual and relay efforts in the meet, including second-place outcomes in all 11 events. The fastest Masuk times in each event are as follows:

200 yard medley relay: 2. Jack McHugh, Carter Adragna, Sam McHugh and Riley Sheppard 1:46.91; 3. Keller Hall, Owen Smith, Jacob Urkawich and Kyle Zarkar 1:56.65.

200 freestyle: 2. Adragna 1:56.34; 3. Alex Malecki 2:11.10.

200 IM: 2. Brendan Kirberger 2:11.15.

50 free: 2. Sheppard 24.09; 3. Zarkar 25.43.

100 butterfly: 2. Sam McHugh 57.02; 3. Hall 1:00.04.

100 free: 2. Sheppard 54.34.

500 free: 2. Kirberger 5:13.38.

200 free relay: 2. Sheppard, Sam McHugh, Thomas Rodriguez and Zarkar; 3. Smith, Trent Pierson, Nicholas Carvajal and Gavin Gabriel 1:52.45.

100 backstroke: 2. Jack McHugh 1:00.34; 3. Hall 1:01.69.

100 breaststroke: 2. Adragna 1:03.79.

400 free relay: 2. Zarkar, Malecki, Sheppard, Adragna 3:51.63; 3. Urkawich, Rodriguez, Jonathan Ganino and Joshua Ofori-Nhansah 3:57.00.

Masuk will host Newtown Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 6 p.m., visit Brookfield Feb. 14 at 5:15 and host New Fairfield on Senior Night, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m.
