New Teacher Profile: Social worker Crystal Aldophe joins Monroe’s team

Crystal Aldophe's family moved to the U.S. from Jamaica when she was seven-years-old. She was recently hired to be a social worker for grades k-8.

Name: Crystal Aldophe

Position: Social worker for grades k-8

Coming from: New Haven Public Schools. Sixth year in education.

Grew up in: Family emigrated from Jamaica when she was seven, Aldophe grew up in Norwalk

Education: Earned a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut; and a Master’s degree in clinical social work from Fordham University.

What do you like most about being a social worker?

I love working with children. I like the diversity of it. Every day is a different day. I love helping to solve challenges, whether it’s personally or socially.

What do you most look forward to about working in Monroe this fall? 

I’m really looking forward to working with an amazing team. I really think I will be able to blossom in my practice as a social worker, because of the community support and resources here.
