Monroe Summer Day Camp presents inspirational signs, handmade with love

MONROE, CT — Drivers may have noticed inspirational signs posted on utility poles with messages like “be kind”, “have fun” and “happiness this way”, while traveling by the green, Route 111 and Wheeler Road.

Children enrolled in Monroe Summer Day Camp painted and decorated the signs together inside the Rexford House behind Monroe Congregational Church. Director Karen Mucherino, her husband John, and Abby Salamon, assistant and first aid director for the camp, hung all of the signs with Abby Salamon on Aug. 18.
