Monroe Police: Gunmen attempt carjacking at Noble gas station

Noble gas station is located at 205 Monroe Turnpike.

MONROE, CT — A driver told police a man in a hooded sweatshirt and face mask, brandishing a handgun, exited an SUV and approached him at the pumps in the Noble gas station parking lot on Monroe Turnpike, demanding his keys during an attempted a carjacking early this morning.

The suspect was the passenger in the SUV, which had pulled up to a pump alongside the victim. At the same time, police said the driver of the SUV, also wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a face mask, pointed a handgun at the victim.

The victim told police he hid behind their vehicle and the suspects left the gas station, heading south on Monroe Turnpike.

The victim made a 911 call to police after the incident, which occurred just after 6 a.m.

Overnight and into Thursday morning, Police received numerous complaints of unlocked vehicles entered throughout the residential areas near Monroe Turnpike.

Members of the Patrol Division and Detective Division obtained surveillance video from several of these car burglaries, which show suspects and an SUV matching the description given to officers by the victim of the attempted carjacking.

Police ask any resident who has surveillance video of these suspects entering or attempting to enter locked and unlocked vehicles or witnessed the attempted carjacking at Noble Gas Station, to call the Monroe Police Department at 203-261-3622.
