MONROE, CT — A 44-year-old woman from Gloucester, Mass., told officers she peed her pants while driving her red Mitsubishi Outlander north on Monroe Turnpike Friday night, which made her swerve into a left turn only lane and hit the back of a blue Chevy Equinox, whose driver was waiting to turn onto Elm Street.
She and the other driver, a 44-year-old Monroe man, declined medical attention. But the woman ended up being charged with DUI and her two male passengers also face charges. The accident occurred around 9:37 p.m.
The woman reportedly told police she was heading to Boston on Interstate 95 and got lost. Asked where she was coming from, she said Boston, according to police.
Officers observed that her eyes were glossy and she had the odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from her, police said, adding field sobriety tests were not performed to standard, leading to her arrest.

While officers spoke with the driver, they noticed her two passengers, a 47-year-old Boston man and 46-year-old Dorchester man, were allegedly discarding and hiding items taken from her vehicle.
Police said officers found empty alcohol bottles hidden behind rocks nearby and arrested both men for interfering with an investigation. Both were released after posting seven percent of their $5,000 bond and have a Sept. 8 court date in Bridgeport.
