Monroe man sustains gunshot wound

MONROE, CT — Monroe police officers were dispatched to Laurel Drive at 9:26 p.m. Tuesday night for a report of a man in his 40’s with a gunshot wound to his upper leg.

Police said their initial investigation suggests the gunshot injury did not occur in Monroe and may have taken place in a different state a day prior.

The patient was treated on scene by Monroe Volunteer Emergency Medical Service personnel and transported to Bridgeport Hospital for further medical treatment.

This matter continues to be under investigation by the Monroe Police Department.
