Monroe Lions Cheer team to compete in Florida

MONROE, CT — Head Coach Felicia Anzalone’s Division 10 Monroe Lions Cheer team finished first at Locals, first at States and second at the Regionals to earn a trip to Kissimmee, Fla., where the girls will compete for the American Youth Cheerleading National Championship.

On Wednesday evening, the coaches and cheerleaders, nine-year-olds Isla Daigle, Lily Kuhns and Abby Spalding, and Sondra Peck, 10, set up a table outside 574 Wines, 574 Monroe Turnpike, and held a fundraiser to defray the costs of their trip, which is in two weeks.
