MONROE, Conn. — Monroe Congregational Church’s 54th annual Strawberry Festival is coming back to the historic Monroe Town Center Green on Father’s Day Weekend, when it will be held from June 20 to 21. Since 1972, this family-friendly celebration has brought together community spirit, handmade artisans, and mouthwatering strawberry delights.
Festival guests can expect a joyful mix of old-fashioned charm and contemporary fun — complete with delicious homemade strawberry shortcakes, pies, jams, dipped berries and smoothies, all lovingly crafted by church volunteers.
The weekend will also feature over 100 juried crafters offering handcrafted goods, a food tent with savory options for all tastes, children’s activities, including games, a bounce house, and face painting, live entertainment throughout both days, and so much more!

Saturday, June 20
John O’Rourke | starting at 10 a.m.
Singer/Guitarist John O’Rourke opens up the weekend with folk and rock classics
Gunsmoke | 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A country band with seven albums, 29 years together, and one musical family, Gunsmoke brings authentic American roots music to the Green.
The Other Four | 2 to 5 p.m.
Based in New Haven, this dynamic four-piece rock band blends classic rock with blues, country, jazz, funk, and Americana — delivering familiar hits with a fresh, electrifying edge.
Sunday, June 21
Zozo & Company | Starting at 11 a.m.
This engaging band of musicians kicks off Sunday with crowd-pleasing rock music and laid-back vibes.
Silver Steel Band | 1 to 4 p.m.
Based in Bridgeport and led by Jim Royle of Jim Royle Drum Studios, the award-winning Silver Steel Band is celebrating its 14th year of bringing the Caribbean to Connecticut. Expect a vibrant mix of Soca, Calypso, and Trinidadian rhythms that inspire spontaneous dancing and contagious joy.
The Annual Strawberry Festival supports the church’s missions and outreach while offering a joyful gathering for the wider community. “Our festival is more than strawberries — it’s about community, connection, and creating memories that last,” said The Rev. Jennifer Gingras, senior pastor. “We invite everyone to join us for this cherished summer tradition.”
