Menorah lighting serves as a beacon on a rainy Sunday night

Rabbi Israel Stock of the Mishkan Israel Day Camp lit the menorah on the Monroe Town Green on a rainy Sunday evening.

During a ceremony held inside the gazebo, Stock recited the names of the five victims stabbed at Congregation Netzach Yisroel’s Chanukah celebration at a rabbi’s home in a heavily orthodox New York City suburb on Saturday night, and prayed for their speedy recovery.

At the end of Monroe’s ceremony, a number of attendees danced around the menorah as light overcame the darkness — and the rain.
