Masuk’s boys volleyball team wins matches

MONROE, CT — Masuk High’s boys volleyball team defeated host Oxford 3-1 on May 4 and visiting Kolbe Cathedral 3-0 on May 6. With the wins, the Panthers improved to 8-7 overall heading into a Monday, May 9, visit to Shelton at 6:15 p.m.

Game scores against Kolbe were 25-13, 25-12, 25-16. Seven of Masuk’s eight wins have been in the minimum three sets.

Ryan Barringer had a dozen kills. Nate McCauley logged nine kills and four digs. Vichu Selvaraju, McCauley and Nathan Kurkoski all had a trio of aces. Kurkoswki racked up 25 assists.

The Panthers return home Wednesday, May 11, to take on Pomperaug at 5:15 p.m.
