Masuk swimmers post eight season-best times in win over Weston

WESTON, CT — Coach Emily DeMace’s Masuk Panthers continue to make big strides in the pool. The Masuk swim team members recorded eight season-best times in a 90-79 win at Weston on Feb. 1. With the victory, the Panthers improved to 4-2.

Best times were turned in by the following:

Kenny Clark 200 freestyle 1:52.78.

Enzo Maia 200 free 2:22.42.

Nick Carvajal 50 free 29.51.

Sam McHugh 100 butterfly 58.34.

Jack Cross 100 free 1:06.13.

Luke Sawyer 100 free 1:08.76.

Gavin Gabriel 100 free 1:10.38.

Sam McHugh 100 backstroke 1:01.37.

Masuk had several first- and second-place finishes en route to the team win, as follows:

200 Medley – 1. Roan Eiordan, Ryan Youngcourt, Sam McHugh, Brendan Kirberger 1:59.92.

200 free – 1. Clark 1:52.78.

200 IM – 2. Kirberger 2:16.09.

50 free – 2. Riley Sheppard 25.19.

100 butterfly – 2. McHugh 58.34.

100 free – 2. Riordan 54.88.

500 free – 2. Kirberger 5:07.14.

200 free relay – 2. Youngcourt, Ryan Malecki, Sheppard, Clark 1:39.54.

100 backstroke  – 2. McHugh 1:01.37.

100 breaststroke – 1. Youngcourt 1:12.59; and Owen Smith 1:13.95.

400 free relay – 2. Kirberger, Sheppard, McHugh, Riordan 3:38.17.
