Masuk softball team walks off against Fitch, baseball team competes

MONROE, CT — Julia Bacoulis hit a walk off single, sending Izzy Viglione home for a score in Masuk’s exciting 3-2 win over Fitch in a non-conference battle at home on Saturday.

Natalie Lieto went 3-for-4 with three singles. Ella Bunovsky went 2-for-4 with two singles. Sarah Falcone went 2-for-4 with a single, a double and 2 RBI. Kat Gallant, Madison Aguire, Emma West-Testo, Sofia Lieto and Viglione each had singles.

The Panthers won their fourth straight game to improve to 4-1 heading into a Tuesday, April 19, home contest with RHAM at 5 p.m.

Masuk’s baseball team fell 6-3 to visiting Woodland of April 14. Brandon Francisco, Greg Nivison and Drew Scalia each had one RBI. Colin Jarnutowski pitched 4 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, striking out six.

The Panthers fell 8-5 at Brookfield on April 16 and carry a 3-3 overall mark into a Wednesday, April 20 home game against Stratford; first pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
