Masuk softball team topples Immaculate 12-1

DANBURY, CT — A combination of stellar pitching and explosive offense propelled the Masuk High softball team to a 12-1 win at Immaculate on Wednesday.

Pitcher Julia Bacoulis surrendered one run on just two hits over seven innings, striking out 12 batters and walking none.

Natalie Lieto had a double, a solo home run and was hit by a pitch three times. Madison Aguirre belted a two-run home run.

Isabel Viglione went 3-for-5 with a walk and two singles. Alyssa Castillo had a two-run home run in the top of the first inning. Julia Bacoulis went 3-for-5 with a walk, single and a double. Ella Bunovsky, Zoe Dalton, Grace Ely and Sofia Lieto all contributed with a single apiece.
