Masuk soccer, volleyball and field hockey teams compete in SWC playoff

MONROE, CT — Masuk High’s sports teams were busy in South-West Conference tournament action late this week and weekend.

The field hockey team, seeded fifth, beat No. 5 Immaculate 4-1 in the semifinals on Thursday. Masuk’s No. 5 girls soccer team lost 3-0 at No. 4 Pomperaug on Friday. In boys soccer, No. 2 Weston blanked No. 7 Masuk 5-0 on Saturday.

On the volleyball court, the No. 7 Panthers visited No. 2 Newtown and fell 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-16). Hannah Fagan and Laura Micu both had four kills. Lucy Pagel had three kills and six digs. Jenna Dattilo and Rose Kealey both recorded five digs.
