Masuk Panthers football team blanks Bethel 36-0

BETHEL, CT — Masuk’s football team shut out host Bethel 36-0 on Friday night. Masuk improved to 3-3 and Bethel fell to 2-4.

The Panthers had a 14-0 lead at halftime and pulled away for a 29-0 advantage going to the fourth quarter.

Austin Keegan opened the scoring on a 78-yard kickoff return and the Panthers never looked back.

Michael Charland scored on runs of 25 and 18 yards (he carried the ball 16 times for 133 yards and had two catches for 28 yards). Mateo Pereira got to the end zone on a 40-yard punt return and Aaron Champagne completed a 23-yard pass to Jake Viglione for a score.

Tanner Walker rushed five times for 73 yards and had two catches for 49 to go along with an interception.

Masuk visits Stratford Thursday at 6 p.m.
