MONROE, CT — Masuk High’s boys’ golf team will have its first home match, at Whitney Farms Golf Course on Monday, when Notre Dame-Fairfield comes to town.
The golf season gets underway two weeks earlier than the rest of the sports teams, and Coach Bob Pagel’s Panthers got off to a winning start with a 178-214 triumph over Weston at Aspetuck Country Club on Aug. 23.
Medalist Brien Trimbach shot a 37 to lead the way. Fellow captain AJ Michetti carded a 49, Trey Michetti had a 45, Quinn McGuire a 49 and AJ Cavanaugh a 47.
Masuk had a match the following day, visiting Immaculate at Danbury’s Richter Park Golf Course. Immaculate came out on top 172-179. AJ Michetti tied Immaculate’s Owen McAloon and Colin Hoyt with a 42 for medalist accolades. Trimbach shot a 43 and McGuire had a 44 for Masuk.
The Panthers, following Notre Dame’s visit, stay home for a rematch with Weston, on Aug. 31. All matches are set to take place at 3 p.m.
