Masuk golfers finish second in SWC championship match

MONROE, CT — Panthers ruled the South-West Conference boys’ golf championship match on Oct. 12. The Masuk High Panthers finished runner-up to the Pomperaug of Southbury Panthers. Pomperaug had a team score of 306 and Masuk finished with a 326. 

Masuk was led by Brien Trimbach with a 77. Justin Carriero had an 81, John McIntyre and Alex Guigno both had an 84, and Colin Abbott finished with an 87.

Trimbach earned All SWC accolades, and Masuk’s other four among the top five all took home All SWC Colonial Division accolades.

Masuk closed out the regular season a day earlier with a 166-183 win over Immaculate to finish 12-2 overall and 11-1 in conference play. McIntyre, Guigno and Abbott each shot a 41, Carriero had a 43 and Trimbach a 44 in the win.
