Masuk girls golfers’ victory over Weston extends winning streak to 3 games

MONROE, CT — Masuk girls golfer Sophia Heinrich led the Panthers to a win over Weston High School in a home game at Whitney Farms Golf Course Thursday, improving their record to 7-1.

Heinrich finished the 35-par-course in 46 strokes. Rounding out Masuk’s top four scorers in the 209-278 victory were Carrie Wittenauer 50, Izzy Roy 53, and Lauren Breyan 60. Kate Wittenauer scored a 61 and Lauren Rosati had a 64.

Individual scores for Weston were: Sophia Piscatell 62, Zaina Dove 67, Julia Morledge 68 and Kaitlyn Smith 73.

Masuk’s next game will be against Joel Barlow High School at Whitney Farms Golf Course at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11.

  1. Congratulations on being 7-1.
    But where are the other girls scores from Masuk. It seams the coach is only playing the same 5 girls and there are girls on the team that have a better overall score and he still uses the same ones. He needs to alternate the starters if not he will lose the team and the respect of the girls not playing and the parents are getting fed up with it. They didn’t spend $300 to have their girls just practice. Either fix it and alternate the girls or parents will start making complaints to the school board. Seems like favoritism..
