Masuk girls golfers top Barlow, extend winning streak to 4

MONROE, CT — Masuk girls golfers won their fourth game in a row Tuesday, beating Joel Barlow High School 219-241 at Whitney Farms Golf Course.

Carrie Wittenauer led the way for the Panthers, scoring a 50 on the par 35 course.

Other individual scores for Masuk players were Sophia Heinrich 53, Elissa Campos 55, Lauren Breyan 57, Izzy Roy 59 and Kate Wittenauer 66.

Individual scores for Barlow were Emily Bruce 57, Katie Fletcher 59, Lilly Wenig 60, Maisie Straborny 65 and Brookley Gin 70.

Rachel Nelson, of Bethel High School, was an independent player in Tuesday’s game. She completed the course in 55 strokes.

Masuk improved its record to 8-1. Their next game is today (Wednesday) at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Fairfield, where they will face Notre Dame High School at 3 p.m. Notre Dame is 4-4, but has won its last two games.
