BETHEL, CT — The host and No. 2 Bethel High girls basketball team shook off a strong start by No. 7 Masuk in South-West Conference Tournament quarterfinal-round action on Wednesday.
The Wildcats prevailed 48-34 to advance to Friday’s semis. Masuk will turn its attention to State Tournament play.
Masuk led 15-12 after one quarter of play but was held without a point in the second period and trailed 20-15 at halftime. Bethel pulled away after the break.
Maddie Farrer scored 11 points, Bailey Bajda dropped in nine, Grace Sheppard had six and Emma Troesser and Peyton Webb both contributed four.
