Masuk boys golfers beat Brookfield, improve to 7-0

BROOKFIELD, CT — Coach Robert Pagel’s golf team continued its torrid start to the 2021 season Thursday, as Masuk beat Brookfield High School on the road 158-172. The win at Sunset Hill Golf Club improves Masuk boys golf’s record to 7-0.

Colin Abbott and John McIntyre of Masuk earned the title of duo medalist for their top performances. Both Panthers scored a 39 on the par 36 course.

Teammates Alex Giugno and Justin Carriero finished just one stroke behind with scores of 40 each. Trevor Scholz kept pace with a 49.

Top performances for Brookfield included Tyler O’Connor and Justin Fedigan, who both scored a 40.

Masuk’s next game will be at home Tuesday, when they face New Milford at Whitney Farms Golf Course in Monroe.
