Two games in as many days, including a makeup from December, proved to be no problem for the Masuk High boys’ basketball team. The Panthers defeated visiting Cheshire 55-35 in a rescheduled contest on Monday, then beat Weston 65-54 the next night in another home tilt.
In the win over Cheshire, Brandon Francisco compiled 22 points and was 7-for-8 from the free throw line.
Matt Domenichelli had a double-double as he racked up 14 points and 14 rebounds to go along with two blocks. Sean Minnick had 10 points and recorded eight rebounds. Greg Nivison added six points. Masuk pulled away in the second half with 33 points, 19 of which came in the third quarter.
Against Weston, Francisco again led the way, pouring in 20 points. Minnick had 17, Nivison had 10, and Nate McCauley added seven.
The Panthers have won three straight games going into a Friday, Jan. 21, home tilt with Notre Dame-Fairfield at 7 p.m.
