Lions win a shootout with Southington for the Shoreline League Championship

The Monroe Lions third graders won the Shoreline League Championship Game last Sunday, capping off a perfect season with 45 to 32 victory over Southington. Now the rest of Monroe’s teams will prepare for the playoffs.

The seventh grade Lions also went undefeated, shutting out Torrington 31 to 0 in their last regular season game.

Other Lions’ scores from last week included a 27 to 0 win over Newington for the eighth graders. The sixth-graders also blanked their opponent, defeating East Haven 33 to 0.

The fifth grade Lions ran into a tough Newtown team, falling 31 to 0 and the fourth-graders topped Shelton 19 to 6.

  1. Great Job by all ALL GRADE LEVELS in the LIONS Organization. Great job by the coaches and other Numerous Volunteers. It couldn’t happen without all of your assistance. Can’t forget the cheerleaders too GREAT JOB LADIES.
