MONROE, CT — The Jockey Hollow Middle School Track and Field team recently started practicing for its upcoming season, which begins at Masuk High School this Friday, April 25, at 4 p.m.
“We are so proud of every student-athlete on our team,” said Head Coach Donald Casey Jr. “Students are safe, caring, kind, support each other and work hard. Each student is learning many new skills and having fun at the same time.”
The Lions are also coached by Joseph Lato.
Track and field events at the middle school level include relays, sprints, middle distance races, hurdles, long jump, discus and shot put. Each practice incorporates running, stretching, team building skills, and specific event training for the 62 students in grades 6, 7 and 8, who are on the team this year.
Jockey Hollow’s student-athletes invite the public to attend a meet to support the Lions. In addition to this Friday’s meet, the 2025 schedule includes meets on:
Monday, April 28, at Bethel High School, 4 p.m.
Wednesday, May 14, Keller Relays at New Fairfield High School, 4 p.m.
Monday, May 19, at Shelton High School, 4 p.m.
