It’s time to order school lunches in the distance learning pick up program

MONROE, CT — Monroe public schools sent a letter on the district’s distance learning lunch pickup to parents and guardians Thursday.

All Students in grades k-12 on distance learning, whether scheduled or due to school closure, may order lunch using the order form by clicking on this link. All orders must be received by 10 a.m. on Friday.

On the days students are distance learning from home, their lunch must be picked up at Fawn Hollow Elementary School from 7:15 to 8:15 a.mLunch pick-up will occur on Monday, Nov. 23, when families pick up lunches for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

There is no other pick-up this week due to the holiday. This pick-up site is for all students/families in the school district. All lunches ordered are available free of charge to Monroe public school students under the age of 18, as recently made available through the National School Lunch Program.

The lunch sign up for the week of Nov. 30 will be sent out on Tuesday, Nov. 24. Please sign up by Wednesday, Nov. 25, by 10 a.m.

National School Lunch Program Cost Waiver for Student Lunches

All students in grades k-8 wishing to “purchase” lunch through the school cafeteria will be able to do so at no cost. This nationwide waiver is available to all schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). The program will continue through the end of the school year.
