“The Monroe Democrats have put forward a strong slate for Town Council and an excellent candidate in Christa DeLeo for Treasurer,” Himes said. “Dee Dee Martin, Sue Koneff, Phyllis Kansky, Spencer Wesley, Jason Maur and Jen Aguilar represent a true cross section of Monroe and will represent the interests of all Monroe residents. Christa DeLeo has banking experience, two sons in the school system and a passion for Monroe. Her professional experience and roots in Monroe will make her an excellent treasurer for this town.”

Monroe DTC Chairwoman Patty Paniccia said, “Congressman Himes has been fighting for us in Washington and we are so happy that he was able to join us today. His endorsement of our slate is a testament to the fact that the Monroe Democrats are committed to making Monroe an excellent town to live in.”

At the rally, the Monroe Democrats collected approximately 100 pounds of food for the Monroe Food Pantry and approximately 30 packages of diapers for the Connecticut Diaper Bank.

“We were so happy to receive donations of food for the food pantry and for the Connecticut diaper bank,” Paniccia said. “Running for office is about representing the interests of all Monroe residents and helping where we can. Thank you to those who donated. It is important to be good neighbors.”

Himes represents Monroe in the U.S. House of Representatives in addition to 16 municipalities in the 4th Congressional District of Connecticut.
