DUI arrest: Driver blocks Ford Fusion at Henny Penny, until officers arrive

MONROE, CT — A Webb Circle man was charged with DUI late Friday night, after another driver blocked his Ford Fusion from entering the Henny Penny gas station on Roosevelt Drive with her vehicle.

Police said a woman followed the driver of the Ford Fusion, while heading west on Route 34, around 11 p.m., and told officers she saw the Ford cross over the center line several times, just missing oncoming traffic in the east bound lane.

When the driver of the Fusion started to pull into the Henny Penny parking lot, the complainant told police she saw the opportunity to block him in.

Police said officers smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage while speaking to the driver, Corey Schneider, 28, of 250 Webb Circle, who spoke with a slurred speech and had glossy eyes.

When Schneider stepped out of the Ford, police said his balance was impaired and he fell into one of the officers. Schneider refused to participate in field sobriety tests, according to the report.

Schneider was charged with failure to drive in the proper lane and illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. He was released on $500 bond for a Nov. 2 court date.
