Cash, presents stolen from vehicles on Christmas Eve

MONROE, CT — Police responded to two incidents of thefts from vehicles in the Carl Anthony’s parking lot on Main Street on Christmas Eve.

At 8:57 p.m., a Trumbull woman told officers a window of her Audi A5 was smashed and wrapped Christmas presents were stolen from the front seat, along with a large pocketbook containing $700 cash, eight credit cards and an unknown number of gift cards, according to the report.

A laptop was also stolen from the vehicle, police said.

While investigating the incident, officers found the unlocked Chevrolet Impala of a Shelton woman was also entered and $100 cash and $100 worth of jewelry was taken, police said.
