Bacoulis throws no-hitter as softball team keeps cruising

BETHEL, CT — Pitching and power propelled the Masuk High softball team to a 16-0 win at Bethel on Friday. Julia Bacoulis tossed a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts.

Masuk catcher Isabel Viglione went 2-for-2 with two homeruns and five runs batted in. Natalie Lieto went 2-for-5 with a single and a homerun.

Emma West-Testo went 4-for-4 with two doubles, two singles and two RBI. Ella Bunovsky went 2-for-4 with two singles. Sarah Falcone and Kat Gallant each singled and had an RBI. Sofia Lieto went 2-for-3 with two singles and a run knocked in. Bacoulis singled and had two RBI, and Ava Moretti had a single and drove in a run. Bethel committed seven errors.

Masuk was coming off a 10-3 home win over over New Milford two days earlier.

The Panthers will visit Joel Barlow Monday, May 2, at 4:15 p.m.
