Aiden Lein takes over the Masuk boys swim team

Riley Sheppard returns to the Panthers and is one of the captains.

MONROE, CT — Masuk High’s boys swim team is set to begin the season and has a new coach in place as Aiden Lein takes over the Panthers.

Joshua Ofori-Nkansah, Sam McHugh and Riley Sheppard are the captains.

Returning swimmers are Sean Cammarano, Nick Carvajal, Jack Cross, Gavin Gabriel, Jon Ganino, Keller Hall, Brendan Kirberger, Enzo Maia, Alex Malecki, Gavin Dowling, Trent Pierson, Owen Smith and Jacob Urkawich.

A returnee who is also a newcomer of sorts is Kyle Zarkar, back in the Masuk pool after a couple years off.

Those who are new to the team and will add to the lineup depth are Carter Adragna, Aiden Cammarano, Aiden El-Sahragty, Jayden Maragh, Jack McHugh, Brody Pierson, Andrew Radu, Aiden Rodas, Logan Rodas and Thomas Rodriguez.

The Panthers began their season on Wednesday, when they visited Pomperaug. Masuk goes to Fairfield to take on Prep and Notre Dame-West Haven on Dec. 27 at 2 p.m. Masuk has its first home meet Jan. 4 when the Barlow-Bethel squad visits at 6 p.m.
