MONROE, Conn. — A 30-year-old Bridgeport woman was charged with conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny during a shoplifting incident at Stop & Shop, 470 Monroe Turnpike, April 13.
At approximately 8:17 p.m., a Stop & Shop manager told officers two individuals were leaving the store with unpaid merchandise.
Police said a male suspect went into the store and stole 29 items worth a total of $568, while a woman seated in a Chevy Impala waited outside. The man left the store and got into the car, but it didn’t start.
The man fled on foot toward Elm Street and was not caught, but officers found the woman standing behind Chase Bank and arrested her, according to police.
Police said she matched the description of the female suspect on the store’s surveillance video and had a key to the Chevy.
She was held on $2,500 bond and taken to court last Tuesday.
